About

As the name suggests, AtypiQal strives to provide a different approach to mental health support for those who have been made to feel different.

Innovative Support

The concept for AtypiQal emerged after countless personal and witnessed experiences of trauma when accessing, or attempting to access, mental health care.

Queer folks, and otherwise marginalized communities, have unique needs, challenges, and barriers to wellness. Too often, these narratives go unaddressed in therapy or do not respond well to traditional approaches.

We do things different, because we are different. We want better for those who are atypical, so we're offering better.

If “I should be farther along” lives rent-free in your head, pull up a seat. I work best with trans and queer folks—often neurodivergent—carrying complex trauma and shame from family, faith, school, or work. You’re tired of masking, people-pleasing, hyper-independence, and being “the strong one.” You want steadier nervous-system skills, kinder self-talk, clearer boundaries, and relationships where you don’t have to translate yourself. Your goal: relief that lasts, a story that makes sense, and a life that fits you—not one you have to squeeze into.

I blend nervous-system tools with techniques from trauma-centered and shame-informed work to challenge shame stories, reduce avoidance, and practice real-life boundaries. You set the pace; I help keep us moving. Expect collaborative interventions, affirming approaches, and a steady ally who celebrates wins and names patterns with compassion.

You’re not broken—and you don’t have to do it all on your own. You’re adapting to a world that hasn’t always adapted to you—and that says everything about your independent nature and rock-solid resilience. If this resonates, let’s talk about what relief and belonging could look like for you.

I offer virtual therapy services to residents of Missouri, and virtual coaching services are open to everyone. The folks I work with are based on compatibility, regardless of age, identity, status, beliefs, and/or other factors. General availability Wednesday through Saturday.
